Rev. Aaron Williams
Reverend Aaron Williams, became Mount Zion's 24th senior pastor in May 2008. Rev. Williams is a native of Augusta Georgia, 39 years of age and the oldest of three brothers and five sisters.
At the age of ten he recognized his desperate need for Christ. He credits his mother and grandmother with helping him to solidify his commitment. At age 18 he accepted the call to the ministry. He developed an insatiable appetite for studying and teaching the Word of God in Sunday School and Bible Study. He was licensed to preach in 1988 at the age of 20, and ordained in 1992 at 24 years of age.
Reverend Williams received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Paine College in Augusta, Georgia, and a Master of Theology with an emphasis in Systematic Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas.
Upon entering the ministry, Reverend Williams served as an Assistant to the Pastor of Old Storm Branch Baptist Church in Clearwater, South Carolina. While serving there, he met his wife to be, Michelle Watkins, also a native of Augusta, Georgia. They were married on December 19, 1992.
Prior to coming to Mount Zion, Rev. Williams was the Pastor of the Senior Ministry and Young Adult Ministry at Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Garland, Texas. He also worked as an instructor of Bible Exposition at Southern Bible Institute in Dallas. Reverend Williams also has a wealth of secular employment experience in the aviation industry.
Having been primarily raised by his grandparents, he is committed to bridging the generation gap that exists between seniors and young adults, and thereby cultivating an intergenerational ministry within the church.
