Rev. Dr. Julie Vaughn was called into ministry in 1999, licensed to preach in 2005, and later ordained under American Baptist Churches leadership. She is a Board-Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and the founder of Hope Angels Ministry.

Dr. Vaughn holds a Doctorate in Bioethics, a Doctor of Ministry, a Master of Arts in Bioethics and Health Policy, a Master of Divinity, and a Master of Arts in Christian Education. Her work bridges ministry, healthcare, and ethics, with a focus on spiritual care, justice, and healing.

She has served as the American Baptist Home Mission Society Area 7 Washington Liaison and currently serves at Kindred LTAC as a Clinical Ethicist on Health Equity and Patient Safety committees. Her scholarly work includes published articles in ethics, including The Role of the Hospital Chaplain at End-of-Life Care: Case Studies of Healing, featured in the Journal of Ethics, and Providing Chaplaincy to Youth and Young Adults Marginalized in King County.

Rev. Dr. Vaughn serves as an Associate Minister at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Seattle, where she is actively engaged in preaching, teaching, and leadership. She is a mother, grandmother, and devoted servant of God, seeking always to follow God’s heart as expressed in Isaiah 61:1.
